Therapy, education and guidance under one roof
Opened in 2002 as the Society's first project, the Centre now runs multiple therapy and education programmes for children and adults with special needs, working from clinics in Delhi and Greater Noida.
Book a consultationChildren and adults across a wide range of conditions
Our therapists and educators are experienced in supporting the following conditions, alongside families who are learning to navigate a new diagnosis.
Occupational Therapy
Our occupational therapists work with children who find the practical and social skills of everyday life difficult, aiming to build independence at home, at school and in the community. Therapists work closely with each child's family, school and other healthcare professionals, sharing responsibility for meeting the child's needs — including modifying classroom equipment and consulting with teachers.
Areas we work on
- Gross motor and fine motor skills
- Cognitive and perceptual skills
- Sensory integration and visual-motor skills
- Motor planning and oral motor skills
- Play, social-emotional skills and activities of daily living
Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is a rehabilitation discipline that addresses impairments and promotes mobility, function and quality of life through assessment, diagnosis and physical intervention. Each child's programme is built around their own degree of understanding and reason for referral, using balance, strength and coordination activities, toys, games and specialised equipment.
What our physiotherapists do
- Assess the child's physical state and design an individual programme
- Monitor progress and adjust the plan as the child grows
- Teach parents and caregivers the skills to support everyday tasks
- Advise on footwear and assistive equipment
- Coordinate with other health professionals and schools for a smooth transition home
Speech Therapy
Our speech-language pathologists prevent, assess, diagnose and treat speech, language, social communication and swallowing difficulties in children and adults, working individually with clients and offering guidance to families and support groups.
Services we provide
- Cognitive aspects of communication — attention, memory, problem solving
- Speech — articulation, fluency, voice and resonance
- Language — comprehension, expression and pre-literacy skills
- Feeding and swallowing support, including for infants
- Voice therapy for conditions such as hoarseness or reduced vocal volume
Special Education
Special education addresses each learner's individual differences through planned, closely monitored teaching, adapted materials and accessible classroom settings. Our goal is to help every student reach a higher level of personal self-sufficiency than a typical classroom alone could offer.
How we teach
- Individually planned lessons for learning, communication and physical disabilities
- Adapted teaching materials and assistive technology
- Small-group and one-to-one instruction in a resource room setting
- Close coordination with therapy teams and families
Child Guidance Centre
The Child Guidance Centre focuses on early detection, assessment and family counselling for children with intellectual disabilities — the earlier a need is identified, the more the Centre can help accelerate a child's development and prevent secondary difficulties.
What the Centre offers
- Diagnosis and assessment of intellectual potential
- Early identification and early intervention planning
- Guidance and counselling for parents on their child's specific needs
- Support with behavioural and achievement concerns
- Ongoing parent and family counselling
Psychological Counseling
Living with a disability, or supporting someone who does, brings its own emotional weight for children and families alike. Our counsellors work alongside our therapy teams to support mental wellbeing, behaviour and coping skills — whether that means a few sessions to work through a difficult transition, or ongoing support through a longer journey.
What we offer
- One-to-one counselling for children, teens and adults
- Behavioural support for anxiety, anger and emotional regulation
- Family counselling to support siblings and caregivers, not just the individual
- Coping strategies for a new or difficult diagnosis
- Referral to a psychiatrist when further clinical evaluation is needed
Parent Consultation
A diagnosis changes daily life for the whole family, not just the child. Our parent consultation sessions give caregivers one-to-one time with our clinical team to understand what a diagnosis means, ask questions freely, and turn therapy goals into routines that work at home.
Sessions typically cover
- Explaining assessment results and therapy recommendations in plain language
- Practical strategies for daily routines, behaviour and communication at home
- Coordinating goals across occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech therapy
- Signposting to further medical, educational or vocational support
