Our paediatric speech-language program helps your child develop the skills needed for successful communication and feeding. These skills can affect all aspects of daily life, from communicating basic needs to developing social skills and friendships to progress in school. Our certified speech-language pathologists have master's degrees and extensive training in childhood speech, feeding and language problems.
Children benefit the most from communication and feeding therapy when these problems are identified early. Youngsters who have feeding problems often have communication problems after infancy, because many of the mouth and airway structures used to feed and swallow are also involved in talking. Also, children with speech-language problems are much more likely to have reading problems later on. If you have any questions about your child's speech or feeding skills or if you think your child has difficulties understanding language, ask your child's doctor for a referral to All Children's Rehabilitation Services. |
